Large sized pneumatic tire lift trucks for empty container handling range in capacity from 33,000lbs to 36,000 lbs capacity. Designed to efficiently lift 20' and 40' empty ocean containers, or refrigerated containers, empty container handlers can then stack them one on top of an other.

Empty container handlers have the ability to stack containers 3 to 5 high, or greater depending on the empty container handlers lift height. Special side-pick empty container handlers have an attachment instead of forks. This special attachment is hydraulically expandable from 20 feet to 40 feet depending on the length of the container being handled. Integral spreader bar attachments like these have twist locks which will lock the container to the attachment during handling.

The are most commonly equipped configuration for empty container handlers is with six cylinder diesel engines, and they rarely if ever come with an eight-cylinder gasoline or LPG (propane) engines.
